My name is Scott Ford! Throughout my time in high-school and university, I trained and raced as a competitive middle-distance runner. However, lacking a structured strength training program I ended up with myriad muscle imbalances and over-use injuries that resulted in me retiring from competitive training and racing at the tender age of 20. Not wanting to be physically broken for the rest of my life, I enrolled in NAIT’s Personal Trainer program and specialized in corrective exercise. Having attained my CSEP-CPT certification (Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology – Certified Personal Trainer) upon graduation, I’ve been working as a certified personal trainer for going on 5 years. I am happy to say that I am no longer physically broken and have transitioned from being a gangly middle-distance runner and turned myself into a gangly rock climber.

Gisèle Tennant, BSc. MSc, PhD, AFLCA, CSEP-CEP/HPS, PN-NC1 Dr. Tennant is a certified exercise physiologist and nutrition coach. She is the President of Fitness Alberta powered by the AFLCA, an AFLCA Trainer Educator and Certified Fitness Trainer Examiner. She holds multiple fitness certifications, has authored several fitness certification manuals for YMCA Canada and co-authored a deep-water tethering manual for the AFLCA. She's a published academic author and has been interviewed both for television and print. Gisèle has presented at international academic conferences and is a sessional lecturer in the Personal Training Department at Mount Royal University, an Adjunct Associate Professor at St Mary’s University in the Psychology Department, and a curriculum developer (SAIT School of Health and Public Safety – Fitness and Wellness Management Diploma). She is dedicated to improving the quality of life of her clients through evidence-based physical activity and healthy nutrition.
