SMS Consent Information
This page explains how Anytime Fitness obtains consent before sending a one-time text message with a link to the AF App. Consent is collected verbally in person at participating club locations and documented in our member management systems.
How We Obtain SMS Consent
At Anytime Fitness, we collect SMS consent in person at our retail locations. Here is how the process works:
- A staff member asks the customer for verbal consent to receive a one-time SMS message related to app download and account access.
- The staff member explains that the message will include a link to the AF App and that message and data rates may apply.
- The customer is informed that they can opt out at any time by replying STOP.
- If the customer agrees, the staff member clicks a button in the staff portal, which sends the text message to the customer's mobile number on file.
- No web form is used for this process. Consent is always obtained verbally and documented in our member management system.
Staff Verbal Consent Script
Club staff use the following script when requesting consent:
"I’m going to send you an invite to download the Anytime Fitness App. With the app, you can access personalized coaching around the clock, track your progress in real time, access the gym with Access Pass, and more.
If you agree, I’ll send you a one-time text message with the download link. Standard message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. Do I have your consent to send that text?"
The text message is only sent after the customer provides verbal consent.

Message Frequency
This process is intended for a one-time text message that provides a download link to the AF App. Additional text messages are not sent through this invite flow unless the customer separately opts in to another messaging program.
Opting Out
Customers may stop receiving text messages from this program at any time by replying STOP to the message they receive.
Consent to receive this text message is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
