We accept the BCBS of Alabama Fitness Flex cards for membership along with an annual fee of $120

Cantrell
Trainer
Amber joins the team with over ten years experience in the fitness industry. She is a graduate of the University of North Alabama and is a certified personal trainer. Her specialities include general population fitness and weight management. She has trained hundreds of clients in settings ranging from outdoor bootcamps in Arizona to cycle classes at Mississippi country clubs. When Amber isn’t in the gym she is a busy mom of two young girls. She also enjoys traveling with her husband Scott and volunteering with the Junior League, Brookwood Forest PTO, and Off Shoots Garden Club. She lives by the motto, “If it isn’t sustainable, it isn’t maintainable.” Let her help you make the first step to finding that same balance and living a better life!

HI! I am Kathleen Davis and have been teaching group fitness and Personal Training for nearly 30 years. I received my GF & PT certifications from AFAA, group cycling from Madd Dogg Athletics, Small Group Leadership from SCW Fitness, contemporary comprehensive Pilates Training and Nutritionist Certification from ISSA. Over the years I have worked with many different ages and skill sets. My versatility continues to grow and includes past experiences in Triathlon training, running, racing, boot camps, interval and weight room training…and now Nutrition Coaching! All of this adds to a well rounded & balanced perspective to fitness & nutrition instruction. I have a passion for helping others learn more about overall wellness, the benefits of strength training, and the importance of solid nutrition. I am married to Tyler, who I met at Auburn University, and a proud mother of 3.
Sarah
Detwiler
Trainer
Sarah Detwiler graduated from Auburn University with a major in Health Promotion and has been a personal trainer for over 8 years now. She has worked with clients of all ages and fitness levels, including post physical therapy patients with shoulder, hip and knee injuries. Sarah believes working out should be fun and always strives to make exercising something that people will enjoy! Her favorite type of workouts are HIIT and Tabata style, and what she loves most about her job is meeting new people, helping them reach their goals, and building lifelong friendships. Sarah also enjoys teaching group fitness classes and small groups. When she’s not in the gym, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and their 2-year-old daughter. She loves to travel with family and friends, so long as it is to somewhere warm!

Colleen has been training all ages and levels of fitness for over 25 years and has a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of Florida. Her specialty and passion is Senior Wellness. We are excited to have Colleen on board to help us expand on our Senior offerings as well as provide other training services to our members.

Trainer
Jana has dabbled in yoga since 2005, but 2010 was when she established a consistent practice. With a toddler, a new baby, and a demanding job, life got stressful. She found her peace on her "mat." "During my practice I was able to get out of my head and focus on my breath. Once I began to move my body with my breath, the stress just melted away and I was hooked!" Her practice was the heated Bikram style yoga and eventually she transitioned into vinyasa flow. She has now incorporated yin yoga to her practice as well. Her love of yoga led her to yoga teacher training in 2017. "I knew all the poses, but I wanted more knowledge so I could deepen my practice." She was certified as a RYT 200 through Life Power Yoga in Birmingham. She also has a certification in Chair Yoga and is a member of Yoga Alliance. She has taught corporate yoga, kids yoga and has been part of the team at Anytime Fitness since 2019. Jana teaches small group yoga and private lessons are available as well!

Barry Nave has earned two degrees in Exercise Physiology; his Bachelor’s from Samford University and his Master’s from UAB. He has served in wellness for over 20 years and is certified through the American College of Sports Medicine. Barry enjoys serving folks of all ages. He encourages everyone to be consistent and enjoy the countless benefits of a healthy lifestyle

Derrick purchased the local franchise in December of 2018 with a plan to build and move the gym to this wonderful new facility. Prior to owning this franchise, Derrick had a long career in the technology world, finishing with 12 years as CEO. Derrick is focused on providing a welcoming fitness environment that offers our members the resources they need to help live their healthiest life. Derricks’ hobbies include: Golf, Scuba, Hiking, Running, Snowboarding and the gym. Can you describe your most recent fitness journey? In 2019 I weighed in at 203 lbs with 45 lbs of fat (22%), 90 lbs of muscle and a Visceral Fat Level of 9. Implementing intermittent fasting a year later I weighed in at 180lbs, 28lbs of fat (15%) and still 90 lbs of muscle, and a Visceral Fat Level of 5 and I feel fantastic! What is your favorite motivational quote(s)? The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.
