Combining Fitness and Nutrition to See Results

Gregg had three major reasons to join Anytime Fitness Gilbertsville when he started in November of 2020. First, he had reached 237 pounds and was tired of carrying around the weight. Second, his doctors had recommended he lose weight, which would allow him to explore stopping a blood pressure medication. And third, his son frequently worked out at Anytime Fitness, and had actually started to work there, so Gregg’s membership gave them a point of connection. With those three factors in his life, joining the gym seemed like the perfect thing.

Gregg didn’t have a ton of experience with the gym when he joined, so he mostly worked out in the cardio area. He matched his new workout routine with a trendy new diet, and slowly, the weight started to drop off. However, Gregg wanted to see more progress, so he started working with Beth Ann, a personal trainer & nutrition coach. Gregg signed up for one month of health and nutritional training, during which his coach helped him better understand that trendy diet, and which foods were better or worse for him. They used the Anytime Fitness app to stay in touch each week and track Gregg’s meals and caloric intake, and also worked on improving his post-workout nutrition outside of the gym. Gregg was so happy with his success that he immediately signed up for another month of coaching!

Thanks to his coach, Beth Ann, and the help of the staff at AF Gilbertsville, Gregg was able to learn more machines to work out on and improve his nutrition, too. Since joining, he’s lost 40 pounds and met his doctor’s goal weight for exploring the option to stop his medication. While Gregg said that doing the work both in the gym and at the table is hard, and that seeing plateaus on the scale could be challenging, he had the support of his coach, family and gym members. With their help, he was encouraged to keep working and know that the results would follow! Gregg’s next fitness goal is to reach 170 pounds, a weight he maintained for many years, and he knows he has the support and coaching expertise behind him to make it happen. Way to go, Gregg!
